After enjoying your dream wedding and celebrating one of the best days of your life, it is a wonderful feeling looking through all the magnificent photos that your photographer captured throughout your marvellous day. Every emotion, smile and special moment you will forever hold dear, treasured in your wonderful photos.

After your big day, you may have many ideas on how you can display and admire your photos. You could keep them on your computer and share them with family and friends, or have them professionally printed and placed in gorgeous picture frames. You could even have all of your photos printed into an album.

Weddings are a special occasion as they are possibly a once-in-a-lifetime event, so you should treasure every moment of your day. We highly recommend having a wedding album printed after your big day and here are some reasons why you may consider settling on a wedding album…

Backup to a Computer

Most Photographers will send you your photos digitally through secure online galleries. We advise that if you save your photos onto your computer, you should keep a backup of the files either on a storage device such as a memory stick or another device.

In our experience as wedding photographers, we have had an issue one time when working with digital files. We had a customer who gave us a memory stick and asked us to look over their wedding photos and edit them to be more in focus. Unfortunately over time, the memory stick got corrupted and we could no longer access any of the contents. The photos on the memory stick were backup copies and so our customer had their photos safe on their personal device.

This is another reason why you may choose to have a wedding album – you will have a printed copy of your photos, so if anything were to happen to your files or computer, you will still have your photos.

Where to buy your wedding album

There are likely a few local printing companies who can print your request. Contrarily, many photographers offer a wedding album or your photos in print as part of their packages. If you would like a wedding album of all your lovely photos, we would recommend that you talk with your photographer, either before or after your wedding to find out if they can or will offer to create this for you.

An advantage of your photographer putting your album together and printing your wedding photos is that they have spent time with you and will have an idea of the theme and style that you like. Additionally as they attended your wedding, they will also remember every special moment they captured and so can put photos together that tell your story.
