Why should we hire Pro-Story as our wedding photographers?
Planning for your wedding photography
Choosing a wedding photographer is a big decision. You want outstanding photographs that will bring back happy memories of your special day. You want to look your absolute best in the images. And most of all, you want a friendly, professional service.
At Pro-Story, you’ll get all of that and more. We’re highly experienced in both photography and image editing, and have been photographing weddings in Devon and Cornwall for more than 20 years. We are also members of the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers and the Royal Photographic Society. So we know what works. We aim to make the experience fun and relaxing. We will organise the group shots (usually with the help of the best man) and offer advice on posing for the more formal photos.
We are used to dealing with challenges, whether it’s the hair & makeup running over, or a camera-shy flower girl. Our priority is helping to make sure you enjoy your big day.
And with our premium wedding packages, you get two photographers. Not only does this help to ensure that everything runs smoothly, it also means we can capture extra, documentary style images.
After the wedding, we will personally retouch and edit all your images. You’ll receive a wide range of shots to choose from, all of which have been edited in four different styles – original, blue tone, warm tone and black & white.
What areas do you cover?
We’re based in Plymouth and photograph weddings across Devon and Cornwall, including Exeter, Torquay, Newton Abbot, St Austell and Newquay.
Our premium wedding photography packages include two photographers – Laura and Gareth. We have been friends since college and studied photography together. We are not just business partners – we’re close friends, so we work extremely well together.
Do you have a second photographer?
Yes, we offer a complimentary engagement session when you book a wedding package with us. The photoshoot can either be in our studio or at another picturesque location in the local area*, whichever you prefer.
Do you offer engagement photography?
The images from the session will be available to view in our online gallery. You will be able to choose three images to download free of charge and can order more digital or printed images for an additional cost.
As well as being a great way to celebrate your engagement, this photoshoot is also a chance for us to get to know each other better. It will hopefully mean you feel more comfortable being photographed by us on your wedding day.
(We are happy to travel up to 30 miles outside Plymouth for your engagement shoot, but we will need to charge a small fee of 45p per mile to cover our expenses.)
Currently we do not have the capacity to offer videography. However, this is a service we are looking into developing in the future.
Do you provide video services?
It’s best if you book us as soon as you know your wedding date. We are often booked more than a year in advance and do not want to disappoint you.
When should we book our wedding photographer?
Do we need to make an appointment to see you in person?
We feel it’s important to meet in person if at all possible. When we’re taking photos at your engagement shoot or on your wedding day, it really helps if you feel comfortable and relaxed with us. That’s more likely to happen if you have met us before.
However, we do understand that it’s not always possible to meet face-to-face (for example, because you don’t live in Devon or Cornwall). In these cases, we can arrange to meet via a video call.
What happens if you have not worked at our venue before?
If we have not worked at your wedding venue before, we will visit it before the big day. We like to meet the wedding planner and find the best locations for your photos.
Wedding photography prices
What do you charge for photographing a wedding in Devon or Cornwall?
We have three wedding photography packages for you to choose from. However, we are more than happy to put together a bespoke package to meet your needs. Just drop us a message, stating how many hours you want us at the venue, and which parts of your celebration you’d like us to cover. We will get back to you with a quote.
Don’t forget, when you book with Pro-Story, you will also receive a free additional photography session. Most of our brides and grooms use this session to celebrate their engagement or bridal shower.
Do you offer a discount for off-season or mid-week weddings?
We put the same level of intensity into every wedding, so we tend to keep prices the same. The benefit of this is that we offer an equitable and fair service throughout the year, which means no couples are charged an unfair premium just because they have chosen a summer/peak wedding. However, we do run various offers throughout the year, so please do check with us.
Our prices are exclusive of VAT and you will not need to pay it.
Do your prices include VAT?
When do we need to pay you?
We ask for a deposit of 20% of your chosen package price when you book with us. This secures your date. The remaining balance will be due 14 days before your wedding.
We know that weddings can be expensive, so we are happy to arrange a payment plan if you want to pay in instalments. We won’t charge any extra for this.
